The Dock Museum is built over a Victoria Graving Dock and takes you on a journey through the lives of the people who changed a small farming village at the beginning of the 19th century into a major industrial town.

The museum depicts a story of perseverance and good humour, of economic prosperity followed by the depression and war. Read about the entrepreneurs who feature in the town's story and how new industries developed over the years.
