Stuart is a professional photographer (view portfolio) so for our guests staying at Beech Hill House we are offering a special 20% discount off portrait sessions in our studio or, if you like and weather permitting in the garden or on our outcrop. Normally Stuart charges £50.00 an hour including vat but our guests can have their portrait session for £40.00.

POINTS TO CONSIDER WHEN DRESSING FOR YOUR PORTRAIT |

To get the best from your photography session it is important to consider how you and, or your pet are dressed and the following are few points worth considering. These are guidelines only so anything you are not sure of please ask.

COLOURS
If being photographed with your pet your clothing should compliment the colour of your pet.
Avoid using the same colour as your pet as your main colour because for example wearing a mainly black outfit with a black pet can cause colours, lines and shapes to merge.
If your pet is to wear a collar or coat try to match the colours to your outfit otherwise it will draw your attention away from your's and your pet's face.
Consider your shape because lighter colours tend to emphasize body size whilst darker colours tend to minimise it.
If more than one person is being photographed at the same time everyone should wear items within the same colour tone range. Avoid having some in dark clothing and some in light because one will distract the other.

STYLES
In group photographs don't mix formal and casual outfits.
Consider your shape because sleeveless outfits can, on some people draw attention to the arms and thus away from the face.
Carefully consider the neckline of your outfit so as to suit the shape of your face and neck. In general, if your neck is long and face slender then a turtleneck or high necked outfit will compliment your face, likewise, for short necks and the more fuller face then a v-neck or scooped neck neckline is ideal.

SIMPLICITY
Keep outfits simple.
Solid colours are sometimes best especially if its a portrait with a pet. Try to avoid large or very bold patterns as they can sometimes draw the attention away from the face and may camouflage your pet.

CO-ORDINATION
Carefully select clothing, footwear, jewelry and other accessories so your entire outfit is fully co-ordinated because some photographs, especially those with pets may involve full-length portraits (standing, laying or sitting)

ACCESSORIES
Accessories should compliment your outfit and be of the nature so as not to draw attention away from the face. |
